Barnardo's

Two children playing with toys and smiling

That's a wrap!

Hi Subscriber,

Thanks to support from you, the Barnardo’s community, thousands of children and families across the UK are getting the help they need in 2025 – and can now start to build brighter futures because of it.

	Here’s your 2025 Wrapped:

Together, we’ve been there for families in poverty

Those few weeks – it really saved us.

Thank you for being part of our movement fighting poverty.

When Ellie, a single mum of two, was juggling food costs and bills, life felt overwhelming. Thanks to supporters like you, she wasn’t alone. Through our Poverty Fund, families like Ellie’s received food vouchers, warm clothes, and help with other essentials.

Together, we’ve been there in Parliament

In March, young Barnardo’s ambassadors spoke to MPs about food poverty – raising awareness and pushing for change. Free School Meals were expanded to all children in homes receiving Universal Credit in England, helping over half a million more children. But with 1 in 3 children still living in poverty, our work must continue. We’re campaigning for more change, so watch for updates and ways to get involved.

Together, we’ve lifted around 550,000 children out of poverty

We did it! After years of campaigning with our partners, the two-child limit has been lifted as part of the child poverty strategy. If you wrote to your MP or joined us in campaigning - thank you. Together, we've helped lift around 550,000 children out of poverty. But with 1 in 3 children in the UK still living in poverty, we still have more work to do. And we need your help.

Together, we’ve raised vital funds for children

From marathons to bake sales, skydives to the Big Toddle – your energy and generosity has blown us away. Whether you gave money or time, you’re helping children and families thrive. Thank you for being part of this incredible community.

And together, we’re building a movement to change childhoods.

Your donation has helped families facing their toughest times find hope – whether it’s by giving children safe spaces to play, keeping homes warm and the fridge full, or providing vital emotional support. Families can feel hopeful because of you. We can’t wait to see what we’ll achieve together next year.

From all of us here at Barnardo’s, we hope you have a wonderful festive season and a happy New Year.

Warm wishes,

Gary Day
